I can't believe it's Thursday already and only two weeks to go before Jan and I pack our bags and head to Sydney for the Mamre House workshop. Neither of us want to think about our to do list between now and then. The good news is we've both finalised our projects, including the instructions. We caught up with Christine last week and made some final plans. It promises to be a fun weekend so hope to see you there.

 I'm feeling very pleased with myself, because for once my most recent purchase is being put to use.

How often do I come home with fabric and then after a couple of weeks put it into my stash? Too many! And I am thoroughly enjoying working with these colours.

And I do have more yellow in my garden than I care to admit too.

The Banksiae rose is one of my favourites.  Its a mass of blooms in springtime.

I love the small delicate flowers, the thornless stems and the fact it thrives on neglect. My type of plant.

Mamre House

My first thoughts yesterday were "it's the first day of spring". And then I started thinking and making calculations about how many 'months' before heading to Sydney for the workshop with Christine Book and then to Melbourne, three weeks later, for the Trade Fair.

Mamre House is not months away, it's less than two months. The workshop has always been held on the first weekend in November, but this year it's the last weekend in October. If your a regular, please mark the new date in your diary, 25 & 26 October, we would hate you to miss out because you had the wrong weekend.

Jan has almost finished her project. It's beautiful, very, very inspiring and fits perfectly with the theme Christine has set us. As soon as I saw it I wanted to race home and start on mine. I did wonder why Jan was starting her projects so 'early' but now I understand. Not early, just on time!

Yesterday, I dropped a project for Homepsun off at the quilters and now I can make a start on my projects.

Now I can't show you any pictures of either the Homespun or workshop projects, so here's one of my little quilts. One of my goals this year is to make quilts to stack on this chair. Only three of the quilts have been made by me this year (just don't want you to think I never sleep). Two of the quilts were made by Jan - the bottom quilt and the one draped over the back of the chair.  Do I have enough? Of course not!
