Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair

It's difficult to believe the Craft & Quilt Fair has been and gone. There is always such a build up with weeks of planning and preparations. It passed in such a blur the five days feel like one! The weather in Sydney was perfect, gorgeous and mild when compared to the frosty mornings here.

 Ciskas did the 2011 & 2012 Make & Take classes with me.

This is the best part about doing the shows - renewing past acquaintances and making new ones.

Christmas in June - demonstration

Today everything was loaded on the pallet for the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair. I'm so glad I don't have to think about it again until next week when Jan & I unwrap the pallet. There are a couple of things I know I forgot to pack, but they're small and will fit in the suitcase.

There are lots of new things to look at, my book - Things I Love to Make and  Sarah's Sampler (1855). Plus all the patterns released since last years show.

Favourites, like these Simple Pleasure kit have been packed,

as well as lots of little kits from the book.

Come along to the Christmas in June demonstration at 10.30 am. It's free and goes for 30 minutes. I'll be showing you how to make very simple and quick gift tags using Theodora Cleave buttons

This post should start with a drum roll -  the red & white sampler quilt is finished - ok only the top, but I'm very excited.  It seemed to be taking forever and then it was done. No pictures yet as I want it to be a surprise for the girls doing the class next week.

 Things have been happening for the show too.

 

Fabrics  cut and folded for the Must be Christmas kits.

 

The Birdie Trinket kits are finished, and no the kit doesn't include a finished one! You' d be surprised how many people ask if the  samples are for sale.

 

And I've made a start on one of the projects for the Christmas in July workshop at Avonleigh. It feels like ages since I stitched anything. The needle turned applique border on the quilt doesn't count as stitching.

Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair

The Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair is on next month. There's been a lot of lists made, items crossed off others added as I adjust my plans for what can be done with the stock on hand and the time I have to do it in. It's always a bit of a juggling act.

I'm not sure why but I always start the kits with Barb's, Theodora Cleave, buttons first.

The blue star print is perfect for the blue deer button and I'm so tempted to stitch one tonight just so I can see how it looks! But there are other priorities like the applique border for the sampler quilt.

I'm happy to say I'm half way there!
