I'll be heading to the Albury Community Market this Sunday. This is the last one until the warmer weather arrives.

Lots of lovely new fabrics have arrived in the last couple of weeks and they will be coming with me.

I'm so excited about all the new fabrics I'm not sure which ones to start sewing with first. I'm sure some of them will find their way into the Postcards.

I'm hoping there's time this afternoon to do a little sewing, but first I need to pack for the market.

Easter Basket & Bunny

I couldn't put it off any longer. With Easter only two weeks away and the AQC the following week, I needed to stop stitching and sit myself in front of the computer and focus on writing my new patterns. I went with the felt projects first, Easter Basket and Easter Bunny.

They look so pretty with my other felt Easter decorations!

Bunny Crossing with Make Merry - Birdie and Make Merry - Bunny. The table runner in the background is Springtime and I only just realised how perfect the colours are for Easter.

albury community market this sunday 5th march

It's no secret, I'm no fan of an early morning start, especially on Sundays. It's one of the reasons why you won't find me at the market every week! The plan was to head back in February, but I came up with a number of reasons why I wouldn't. (To be honest I just wasn't ready for the logistics of packing stock, samples, props, hot weather and an early morning start.) But it's time, and I've booked my usual spot, G11, for this Sunday.

You'll find some lovely new fabrics, like these from the Poetry Prints range, and some great bargains.

The new quilt was dropped off to Rose of Pandora Quilting.

The aim is to have it finished and the pattern written for my weekend, 18 & 19 March, at Hobbysew Belconnen.

This year's Postcards club is proving elusive. The problem is deciding what to do with each one. I'm not short on ideas, there are just too many. In the meantime, I'm more than happy to keep making the birdie over and over!

Happiness is.... february

The first mail out and classes for the Happiness is..... club started this week.

The first project is a thread roll; something I've wanted to make for ages. We all have a list of things we want to make 'some day' so you'll know how good I feel now that it's done.

 

 

This one is for the Aurifil threads I like to stitch with.

I had hoped to have another Happiness is..... project finalised this week.

It might have been, if I hadn't changed my mind about the overall size or the background fabric in the corner blocks. This involved reverse sewing (unpicking) and remaking the corner blocks. The decision to make the changes was not made quickly either! Now I must decide if I'll quilt it using cotton batting or iron-on-pellon. 

 

A decision was made too about Shepparton and Wodonga Craft Alive. I'm excited to say I'll be back at both these shows.
