Zita and Leanne have invited me to their lovely shop, Yarram Drapery to do a trunkshow and workshop on Saturday 14 September.
The day commences with a trunkshow (10 - 11 am) followed by the workshop in the afternoon (1 -4pm).
Please check their Facebook events page for details.
They chose A Stitcher's Friend and Vintage Stitches Sampler for the workshop. Between now and then I plan to remake both projects. It's something I like to do; especially if the original was made some time ago and there have been many new projects since. It refreshes the memory and provides an opportunity to make some changes.
Over the weekend I worked on the thread roll, A Stitcher's Friend.
I didn't have to think about which fabric to use. The yummy strawberry print from the range Strawberry Jam by Corey Yoder was the obvious choice.
The original sample used the same fabric inside and out. However it's nice to change things up and I used the strawberry print on the outside and the sweet small floral print on the inside.
For the new sample I stitched my initials on the felt (above) and fussy cut a piece of the strawberry print (below) to replace the initial patch.
It's always fun to see how a sample works with some changes.
Once it was finished all that was left to do was pop my Aurifil Threads in. Colour coordinated of course!
Then roll it up and tie a bow!
This is so cute and useful
