The girls taking part in this year's finishing club have been busy in the classroom and at home.
Julie finished off her Pretty as a Daisy bookmark. The appliqué was done, the twill was stitched, it just needed to be sewn together.
Jenny couldn't stop stitching between classes and now has a stash of gorgeous gifts ready for Christmas.
Theodora Cleave Santa buttons; check out all Barb's beautiful new designs on her blog.
Heather was working on Make Merry - Birdie and Floral Charms at the last class; it's so good to see them finished. Heather has made the purse longer to fit a pair of glasses. It's not the first one she's made!
All Beth needs to do is stitch the binding down and her Postcard - Blooms basket is finished. It looks fabulous. Love her choice of colours!
And some of the other projects worked on. Belinda's felt birdie from All Things Christmas, Jenny's dress for Pip, the quick zipper bag Julie made after she finished her bookmark, Jenny's spring strip purse and her Notepad covers.
It's so exciting to see what's coming out of the cupboard and being finished!
Sadly, the Wednesday night class was the last class at Avonleigh Country Quilting as the shop has now closed. For me, it doesn't feel like the end as Kay Sharon and I will still be working together on the Christmas in July workshop and the Finishing Club classes in August and October.
My first class was with Sharon, when the shop was located in Wodonga, almost ten years ago. Since then there have been clubs, Christmas in July and other one off classes.
I'd like to thank Kay & Sharon for their friendship and support, for organising the classes, their work to make the Christmas in July workshops such an enjoyable experience, the yummy home baked treats, and for stocking just about every one of my patterns.
Wishing them every success for the future and more free time to stitch projects for themselves.
