pop up shop

Saturday, I opened my pop up shop at Mirambeena Community Centre. I'd viewed the room empty, set up for other events, visualised it in my head and on paper and with past experience of layouts for shows, workshops and retreats thought I knew how the space would work! I should have remembered it never goes quite to plan. The room is bigger than I thought; which is great as this means more space for sit and sew.

 

I gave myself two hours to set up; this included unloading the car, setting out the tables, covering the tables, unpacking the stock and displaying the samples. You’re probably thinking two hours sounds like plenty of time, but it does fly by, fast; before I knew it was 10 am and my first customer arrived.

I took a litle bit of everything, precut fabrics, a selection of fabrics on the bolt, felt and kits.

 

My pop up shop will be open Saturday 16 June.

You're welcome to bring your sewing and sit and stitch during shop hours. Cost $10.

This morning I was sorting through my end of bolt basket. I'm sometimes reluctant to part with them! But I do have to be realistic and have added them to my online shop.

some stitching and .....

I was stuck last week and not sure where to go with a little appliqué project for Christmas in July and decided to take a break from it. Add to it, the Appliqué Gathering was on at Skellwags and I had no project I felt like sitting and stitching.

So I prepped some fabric and packed my Aurifil threads.

 

And got down to stitching.

 

And finished it, later in the week.

 

Two nice things happened. First, I had completed a new design and written a rough draft of the pattern, and second the direction I needed to take to complete the Christmas project became crystal clear!

 

Finished now, but you'll have to wait until July to see it.

10am -3pm.

And it doesn't stop there. You can combine retail therapy with Sit & Sew.

Come along with your current project, have a cuppa and sew the day away.

The Sit & Sew costs $10.

Drop in anytime between 10am - 3pm to shop.

 Entry to the shop is via the gate to the courtyard.
