september catch up

It's not often Barb & I have the chance to dispay our samples together.

This was a real treat for me. Barb and I stay in regular contact but rarely see each other’s work, living 300 kms apart. So I was just as excited as the girls attending the trunk show. I wanted to go home and start stencilling, and stamping and gluing and getting 'creative'.

 

Earlier this month I had a Finishing School day at Avonleigh.

These are very popular - it has something to do with the number of unfinished and in some cases not started projects from my various clubs and workshops. Who doesn't love the feeling of finishing a project.

Belinda was working on her Sarah's Sampler blocks.

 

Sue and Ros were working on the fourth Postcard Club project, Postcard - Blooms.

 

 Else began hand quilting her little red & white quilts.

 

September started with a workshop at GingerBears in Benalla.

The girls had a choice of projects, however they all chose to make the felt candle/tree mat, Holiday Fun.

It was a lovely day and I enjoyed teaching the girls my simple techniques for felt applique.

Thank you to Jan for organising such a fabulous day and providing the perfect space for me to display my samples.

 

trunkshow with barb

The trunkshow with Barb (Theodora Cleave) at Avonleigh tomorrow night has crept up on me. It was ages ago that Barb & I discussed it and now it's just one more sleep away.

almost spring

It felt like spring was just around the corner last week.

Very chilly in the shade but lovely in the sunshine so I headed out for a walk with my daughter and her dog. I guess the snake that wriggled across the path right in front of us had the same idea. Lucky the dog was on a lead and my shout had Jess pull him back before he stepped on it. It wasn't a big snake and keen to get out of our way, once it sensed us; the same moment we saw it.  It was a timely reminder to watch where the feet were going, and not be caught up with the scenery or discussing what to have for tea! It will be awhile before Jess goes walking with me again.
