Oh I felt so confident last week I would continue making the red & grey blocks but soon found myself drawn to the Fat Quarter bundles of Denyse Schmidt fabrics in the cupboard.
For some time now I've been toying with the idea of remaking the two little quilts in the pattern Candy Floss. The only thing stopping me was finding the right fabric and it couldn't be pink!
The blue print was just the right scale for the stars and half square triangles and I love the boldness of the sashing fabric. It will be bound with a black check or something similar to frame it.
I'm still looking for the right fabric to make the second one.
While I was happy to keep the quilt to two colours, I needed another project to utilise as many colours and prints as possible.
I'm sure I don't have to tell you there is enough fabric in the bundles to make full size quilts two or three times over. I have only used a fraction in this little quilt, but it's finished, and that's what's important. I've experimented with colour and layout and once it's quilted and bound will have snippets of the fabrics on display instead of in the cupboard.
