It's time I faced facts. I will always make gifts at the last minute. Only on the rarest occassion will a gift be made in advance. I think this is a carry over from my Uni days, when assignments were written the night before the two week extension expired! Some habits are hard to change.
Sometimes I have no clear idea of what to make and this adds extra pressure as the minutes tick away. This time I knew I'd make a purse. The purse shape had been worked out earlier in the year and the hexagons were pieced and waiting for the right project. Bonus!
I've been working on the 5th Postcard club project and made one in red & grey. I loved the combination and decided to make a couple of quilt blocks, to see if it worked. Of course it did and my enthusiasm for a quilt was sparked. In my excitement to start I forgot, while it didn't take long to make two blocks, it will take considerably more time to make the rest..... already I feel my enthusiasm waning.
It's made me realise more than ever, why I make and design projects that don't require a huge investment of time.
I will keep going. I have made too many to stop now and it will look gorgeous.
