The workshop with Quilters & Patchworkers New England had been in the planning for months. The boxes were packed, accommodation and travel plans made. Then it started to rain and the inland route I'd planned through Forbes and Dubbo was subject to flooding. So much effort had already gone into the weekend, there was no way I wanted to cancel. So at the last minute, decided to go via Sydney. And I'm so glad I did. I had a wonderful time with the girls from QPNE.
It started with a trunkshow Friday night and show and tell.
I'd only been half serious when I asked Di if she would have her Grecian Times quilt finished. Di didn't let on she was working on it; what a lovely surprise to see it finished. There were a few late nights, but I think it was worth it!
Marg with the Stitch in Spring bag from the last workshop.
The girls worked on various projects over the weekend, Floral Charms, A Stitcher's Friend, Hollyhock Needle case and Little Birdie.
Annette and Helen. Annette with a blue version of Floral Charms.
Di embellised hers with metallic threads and beads. It looked gorgeous!
A big thank you to Di for organising the weekend and all the girls who attended for their enthusiasm and friendship. Looking forward to show and tell next time.
So nice to see pictures of your QPNE workshop would like to have been there but was in Melbourne seeing my son in Fringe Festival play, got to the Making of the Australian Quilt 1860-1950 exhibition as well, wonderful! Not surprised you had a lovely time in Armidale, they are a great bunch of ladies!
