my easter sewing

Deciding what to sew over Easter was easy. A big bag featuring a Cotton & Steel print. Once upon a time I would have avoided anything with splashes of orange, but this is now officially my favourite fabric. The little drawstring bag was made from the left over fabrics.

 Can you believe AQC is just over two weeks away. (Less than a week before I have to load the pallet; I'm beginning to think my easter sewing was a frivolous use of my time.)

Today the button order arrived from Barb, Theodora Cleave. Barb's buttons are all beautiful and it's hard selecting which ones to take, so I asked her to choose for me!

Easter break

I'm so excited the Easter break is almost here. It has always been my favourite holiday, the weather is cooler and there is none of the hectic rush that comes with the Christmas holidays. I want to do a bit of everything I love, sewing, gardening, cooking, reading.....   

 

I'm more excited than usual as this is the first Easter I've had off in two years. 

I hope you enjoy the Easter break as much as I plan too!

 

Quilters Companion

Look what's on the front cover of Quilter's Companion - my bed runner. I was thrilled when Megan emailed to say it had been chosen.

It's perfect for my bed. I'll post pictures when I get back from Craft Alive - Dubbo.

Craft Alive Dubbo is on next week, 18 - 20 March and yesterday I made a start on the kits.

 

 

It looks like this when it's made.

 

It's the Deer Tree pattern and I've simply swapped  Barb's gorgeous deer button with her even more lovely angel & trees.

The kits will be available at the shows and online here.

 

Two Friends trip

There I was thinking we were over the worst of the summer heat and the past week has been hot hot hot! Not a day under 35 deg celsius and nothing under 30 for the next week. The trip to Two Friends in Leeton last week was hot, but worth it. There were many lovely things to look at and I met some some wonderful girls.

 

 

And if fabrics, ribbons and other bits and pieces wasn't enough, you could always sit down for tea or coffee and yummy cakes.

Sorry there are no photos of cake! I eat first, then think photo.

I'm teaching there again, April 27 & 28 where you get to choose the pattern and celebrating Christmas on 20 July with the release of two new Christmas patterns.
