I'm never sure quite what to expect when I open a fabric delivery. Orders are placed months in advance. Sometimes it's a delightful surprise and other times I wonder about the project I had in mind.

Gorgeous fabrics, but I did wonder what I planned to make with them. Possibly I just loved them so much I had to have them. A girl can never have too many fabrics!

 
Yes there must have been a plan as they combine very happily with another fabric and these buttons.

 

 

And just checking they do work together in a project.

 

The Button purse took very little time to make. It's one of three purses in the pattern Buttons & Blooms. A kit is available too, Button Purse Kit.

 

Market Day

I love strolling around the Rotary Community Market in Albury. It's a chance to catch up with friends, buy treats for the dog and if I'm lucky find a treasure or two. Last Sunday instead of looking I had a stall.

What to display was narrowed down to this selection of samples.

I'm glad I went.

Birdie Trinket - Brooch

Making things to wear, isn't something I think of. My focus is on bits and pieces I can use or display around the home.

It was a pleasant surprise when Barb phoned and told me about the cute brooch she'd purchased at the markets and sent it to me. Yes, Barb had recognised the birdie as my design. It's a great idea and I'm always thrilled to see my designs being used.

Sew Vintage

There are so many fabrics and different combinations I love that sometimes I have to be satisfied with seeing them together in a small project. It's one of the reasons why I love my Sew Vintage bag. Only takes a couple of hours to make and you can play with your fabrics!

 

The pattern retails for $6.00 plus P&H.

cushion club has started

Cushion club started last week with the first class on Saturday.

As always it was lovely catching up with the girls after the holiday break. There was  a lot to discuss and the first half hour was spent deciding which pillow cover they'd make first. Once that was done, it was all about the fabric and which ones would they use.

It's exciting seeing the fabric selections and I have to restrain myself from dipping into their tubs of fabric to see what they could use. I usually give into the temptation!

 

All in various stages of completion. They did ask if I wanted to see them finished  next class, and naturally I said yes.

 

2015 journal cover

The start to this year has been a little unusual for me. Normally this would be the first post of the new year. Instead, there's been a quilt top, cushion covers and a curtain for laundry.

I couldn't resist combining my two favourite fabrics with felt and Aurifil wool thread for this year's cover.
