So you can guess what I've been working on today.

 

There are a number of ways you can take part in the club.

I'm teaching classes at

long weekend sewing

For some time now I've been looking at the laundry window thinking about the curtain or blind I might hang there. A decision was made Friday and Saturday it was started.

Now I enivsaged myself having it done before tea Saturday night and was already mapping out the next project in my head. Then I did some maths, worked out how many blocks I needed to cut and piece together.......

 

 

and realised it wouldn't be finished anytime Saturday.

 

 

It was finished Monday night, after deciding to take my time and enjoy the moment.

 

 

I'm thrilled to have something hanging in the window and it does look lovely with the late evening sunlight shining through.

starting the year with a finish

The best way to start the year is finishing things and that's exactly what the girls did on Sunday at Finishing School.

One thing we try to avoid mentioning is 'the year the projects were started'.

 

Gabi finished Aunt Lilly's Cushion. After seeing Gabi's I have to make a blue one too.

 

Sue made For the Book Lover, it just needed assembling, the stitchery was done.

Bobbi made two  Sew Vintage bags.

All that remained for Belinda to do, was stitch on a bow and her bunny, The Bunny Sisters.

Sue was catching up the on Little Treasures club project Bunny Love, and

Else cut and sewed Summer Berries blocks.

 

Maureen asked for some help with her punch needle. This was started and finished in the class.

It's been so long since I did any punch needle I had to look for my hoop and needle and practice before the class. I'd forgotten how nice it is to do and have added a punch needle project to the list of things I want to do this year.

 

petite prints and wovens

Just when I thought I might be over red these petite prints and wovens arrived on my doorstep. My first thought when I opened the box was 'what can I make'. Priced at $20 per metre please email me if you need to make something with them too!

journal cover ??

Two weeks has gone by and no new journal cover! If you've followed this blog from the start you'll know the first project I make each year is a new cover for my diary. It's always made within the first few days. I have been doing everything else but that, until last night. There's a sense of relief it's finally started. 

 

 

What have I been doing? Working on cushion club.

 

 

Yes, I will have a matching cushion and journal cover. This is my favourite fabric and felt combination right now.

 

Remember the red & white quilt started Christmas Eve, the top is finished. By happy chance it is the just the right size for the bench seat at the front door.

 

When I couldn't decide on a backing fabric I thought I'd try this.

 

The 12 inch Drunkards Path templates may have remained wrapped forever in their packaging if I hadn't decided to use them here. It's been on my wish list to make a quilt with the Drunkard's Path block using only two fabrics. I'm satisfied now, even if it will be on the back.

 

Announcing the Cushion Club for 2015

Cushion club is all about decorating the home.  I’m excited as I envisage new pillow covers and cushions decorating every bed, couch and chair in my home. Even outdoor benches will be given the makeover treatment.  There will be a variety of styles, different construction techniques and finishes. Some will be simple, requiring only a few hours to make, and others will have more detail.  

Shown here are projects from the first three patterns.

The cost of the club is $75 for five patterns and includes postage.

It does not include materials.  

You’ll also receive an email newsletter with constructions tips and ideas on colour choice and design.

The club will be mailed out in the first week of February, April, June, August & October.

Payment is due in two instalments, $40.00 when you join and the balance, $35, the first week of June. A separate invoice will be sent at the end of May.

The above prices are for postage within Australia only.
