The weekend felt like it was over before it started. I guess that's what happens when you're busy and having a good time.
It was an early start Friday morning. Jan and Shelley were waiting for me just after 7.00am. We arrived in Melbourne and had to fill in time before set up. There was only one thing we could do - shop! So a little over an hour later we headed back to the Exhibition Centre with our shopping bags and a Christmas tree tucked under my arm.
Set up for Quilt Market is much quicker than the retail shows, but even then it was still done in record time. A big thank you to Jan and Shelley for all their help.
So with set up complete we were keen to hit the shops again. I can't remember when I last drove in the city at 4.30 pm on Friday so was totally unprepared for peak hour traffic! Yes I do know it will take longer, but 90 minutes; compared to 15 minutes Saturday morning. It did make me smile. We were very relaxed about it and enjoyed looking at the buildings. You see a lot more when you're at a standstill.
