The next few days are going to be busy as I finalise the artwork for my 2nd book.

These were finished today. I'd forgotten how enjoyable & quick they were to make.

The Christmas in July workshop at Avonleigh is only a few weeks away. My goal is to finalise the projects this weekend. I know what I'm doing, I just have to get it done!

There will be a little bit of stitching.

 and doll making. Mmmm they do look a bit weird!

Plus more little things to make for Christmas.

 

Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair

It's difficult to believe the Craft & Quilt Fair has been and gone. There is always such a build up with weeks of planning and preparations. It passed in such a blur the five days feel like one! The weather in Sydney was perfect, gorgeous and mild when compared to the frosty mornings here.

 Ciskas did the 2011 & 2012 Make & Take classes with me.

This is the best part about doing the shows - renewing past acquaintances and making new ones.

Sarah's Sampler (1855)

Many of you have asked if the sampler quilt would be released as a pattern. The answer was yes and I'm pleased to announce the first three patterns are now available.

The finished size of the quilt is 76 x 82 inches and consists of 60 pieced blocks surrounding an appliqued centre. The top border is appliqued.

The instructions are covered in 7 patterns.

Patterns 1-3 -  available now

Patterns 4-7  - available mid/end August

The total cost is $98 plus postage for the two mail outs.

The best thing about finalising the preparations for the Sydney show is I now have time to do a little stitching.

And choose a backing fabric for this quilt.

Christmas in June - demonstration

Today everything was loaded on the pallet for the Sydney Craft & Quilt Fair. I'm so glad I don't have to think about it again until next week when Jan & I unwrap the pallet. There are a couple of things I know I forgot to pack, but they're small and will fit in the suitcase.

There are lots of new things to look at, my book - Things I Love to Make and  Sarah's Sampler (1855). Plus all the patterns released since last years show.

Favourites, like these Simple Pleasure kit have been packed,

as well as lots of little kits from the book.
