Flying from Albury in the winter months is always a bit tricky due to heavy fog. There have been days when all flights are cancelled. When I booked my flight I was only thinking about the plane taking off and not about landing in Sydney. Luckily I arrived before the volcanic ash cloud cancelled all flights. My only option would have been to make the 600km trip by bus or train. I can still remember my first and only train trip to Sydney, a long long time ago, and it's not fondly!
It is always difficult deciding what samples to take but you can't go wrong when it's red.
Just about everything on this wall sold out. The felt needlecases (All Things Nice) and hearts (Stitched Treasures) were very popular.
What I think of as the pretty things with a little Christmas thrown in.
There wasn't much time for looking or shopping but I managed to squeeze some in.
Paying for this pink bundle from The Patchwork Apple took longer than deciding 'should I buy it'.
These must haves are from Somerset, Patchwork Plus - Miranda and Blueberries.
I loved looking at all the quilts, especially the French quilts but the exhibit that left a lasting impression is the HSC Textile Design. I didn't look just once but twice and every time I happened past. Fantastic to see such young talent at work.
It was lovely catching up with familiar faces from Mamre House and Pioneer Patchwork and meeting the many girls who follow my blog.
A big thank you to the girls from Blue Willow Cottage, Chrissie, Rhonda and Jo for their assistance and shared laughter.
I was so concerned about getting to Sydney I never considered the return trip. Forgot all about a plane landing if it was foggy! The flight was delayed 45 minutes and then we circled the airport for what felt like ages before landing at 11am, 1 1/2 hours late. Still a lot quicker than the train!

Hi Marg, Sew glad to catch up with you in Sydney...your corner of thr blue willow stand looked very pretty...great to hear that your stuff sold so well,less to pack away!!! Lots of my Richmond girls who come to Mamre House spent money with you...helping to keep your economy healthy!!
