When Sue emailed me and told me about the African Market Baskets, I knew I couldn't resist. The baskets are made from recycled plastic bags and string. As you can see I had trouble choosing just one and bought two. All the proceeds (100%) goes to the women making the baskets and their community. Plus it provides a healthy income producing activity for them. You can learn more about the City Cotton Development Project Kenya here.

- I've been designing quilts and other sewn items for decorating and use around the home, since 2003. I especially love making quick things and gifting them to family and friends. My favourite techniques include needle turn and felt appliqué, stitching, hand and machine piecing. I live on the Victorian/NSW border, Australia.
