I met some lovely girls on the weekend, and here they are.
The workshop was held at Patches of Heaven, Temora in South West (Riverina), New South Wales.
The weekend started with an early morning drive to Temora, a quick set up and then the workshop started. The first thing the girls were asked to do was make their name tag. Helen provided fabric and trim and it was up to them to design their own tag. They were given 10 minutes which stretched to a 1/2 hour before an independent judge was called in. I now know how to keep a group of girls quiet, set them to designing! And how bad are they, it appears none of them wore their name tag on Sunday. And how silly of me not to have thought to take some pictures of the tags on the Saturday. They were very creative!
Saturday was topped off with Christmas dinner at Janes. Roast meats, a yummy swede and carrot mash topped with tasty grated cheese and roast vegetables. Now I hope I've got the mash ingredients right. This was a favourite at last years Christmas in July workshop and there was much debate over which vegetable was mashed with the carrot. Was it parsnip or swede?
Helen surprised us with a Christmas Gift at dinner. Some yummy fabrics and a gorgeous decoration.
Plus we celebrated with Bon Bons and the traditional bad Bon Bon jokes.
A big thank you to the girls for making the weekend so enjoyable.
You can see more pictures of the weekend here.
Thanks for a great weekend, I know all the Sydney girls loved it. Today I found an oval box amongst all my stuff, i painted the base red and the top gold and my punch needle design looks great on it (oval looks good because remember my punch needle went a bit oval in shape).
Thanks again for a lovely weekend hope to see you again soon
