I've been getting lots of enquiries about the spring strips I used in the Homespun project.

This is a spring strip. I first saw them last year at the AQC in Melbourne. They come in a variety of sizes. They are available from Patchwork shops, Studio Mio (who'll be at the AQC this year) or me.

 I did manage to have a little play. Originally this design was worked as a stitchery. As soon as I finished it I wanted to make it in felt.  Well other things got in the way and now only four years later, I've finally got around to it. I did want to show you the stitched version, but after much searching I still haven't located it. I'm sure it will turn up, once I've stitched a new one.

Sackville & Lane

One aspect of my job I most enjoy is meeting girls who share the same love for creating. So I'm very pleased to announce I'll be teaching at Sackville & Lane, Wangaratta.

   On offer is Easter Treats. I cannot begin to explain how much fun I am having with this design. (perhaps the number I've made may give you a clue). New fabrics lead to new patterns to fussy cut and more trims to play with.  Loads of fun and very addictive! And if you can't make it to class, either at Sackville & Lane or Avonleigh Country Quilting, the pattern is due for release very soon. So keep a lookout for it.

Also on offer is Daisy's Star - a Needle punch project. If you've never tried Needle Punch or simply need a refresher class this is the ideal project. Learn the technique plus all the tips for creating beautiful works. But please be warned, it is addictive.

easter and a snack for Azz

Today I dropped off the samples and requirements list for the projects I'll be teaching at Avonleigh.

I have been having so much fun with the Easter project, that I want to make more, more and more. Any fabric purchase I've made of late has been for this project. It's like I'm wearing a pair of blinkers. But I do so enjoy this feeling when one design captures you wholely and solely for a time. 

 

And I found the perfect use for Barb's daisy buttons and bunnies with attitude. How cute are they!

This week I'll be writing the pattern; nowhere near as much fun as designing and making the project. But there is no getting out of it if the pattern is to be released early Feb. Looks like I'll be spending most of my time on the computer rather than the sewing machine.

And I just had to show you this. No I didn't have problems opening the packet. Azzy (the dog) decided to go through my basket looking for a snack. So lucky he stopped at the plastic, didn't eat the staples or swallow the buttons. We do feed him, promise!

I think I'm happiest when I'm working on simple fun to decorate projects, the ones that involve fussy cutting fabrics, ric rac, stitches and buttons.  

Here's a peek at what I've been working on. The Easter project I'll be teaching at Avonleigh in March. I find there is only one problem with this type of project, knowing when to stop!

I had a lovely surprise waiting for me at the Post Office on Friday.

Now some of you will know that Barb is moving to the beach and having a big clean out. Barb found this book and knowing how much I love little quilts sent it to me. I've had a lovely time turning the pages, being inspired and finding more little quilts I will just have to make.
