I realised Christmas is next week and the red & white quilt I make each year is not going to be finished in time.
Progress has been made and as long as I can have it sewn together to the border stage I'll be happy. I should be able to manage that, fingers crossed, and all the other things that have to be done by Christmas day.
Can anyone explain, why there is so much to do and why it has to be done by then? Today in the supermarket, I had to fight the urge to place grocery items I never purchase in the shopping trolley and other items on the off chance they could be needed!
Something I've been wanting to do for a long time is to try out the wool thread from Aurifil. Now I won't embarrass myself by telling you how long I have had this box of gorgeous coloured threads but it can be measured in Christmases.
As you can see some are still unopened but I'm hoping to rectify this over the holiday break. I decided I had to start using them and not overthink the project.
To get the ball rolling I used them to stitch around one of Barb's decorations. I know you've seen the Simple Pleasure decorations before but they are my stand-by gift. The thread was lovely to stitch with and now I'm busy planning new felt projects to use it on. I wonder if there will be time before Christmas Day.

I can't wait to see your red and white quilt, the blocks look lovely. No matter how hard I try to be organised, I always find myself in the Christmas rush too, I think it is just a part of Christmas! Have a lovely Christmas Marg.

Your red and white quilt is looking gorgeous Marg. Look forward to seeing what else you use those new threads on.

The quilt is looking very, very nice.
Seems like we are all always hurrying to meet deadlines. Maybe next year will be different!?!
